There have been numerous reports of a creature called the Daylight Shrieker that has “attacked” people in a variety of locations. The Monster Research Network will continue to collect reports of the Daylight Shrieker. At the moment, it does not seem physically aggressive or malevolent. It does seem to take a thrill in terrifying people mentally and emotionally.
Monster Description:
The Daylight Shrieker is a bizarre and unsettling cryptid known for its startling appearances in broad daylight. This creature has a gaunt, almost skeletal frame, standing slightly taller than an average human. Its skin is pale, stretching tightly over its bones, giving it a ghostly appearance. The Daylight Shrieker has wide, hollow eyes that seem to absorb light and a mouth that stretches unnaturally wide, capable of producing a piercing scream that echoes through the air.
Habitat:
The Daylight Shrieker has been spotted in both populated suburban neighborhoods and isolated and quiet hiking trails. The behavior of this creature remains the same throughout different habitats. It spots its victim, runs at the victim at an alarming speed, and disappears into thin air once it gets within arm’s reach.
Behavior:
The Shrieker typically emerges unexpectedly, often from behind trees, buildings, or other obstacles. It sprints toward its target with alarming speed, its movements almost erratic and jerky, evoking a sense of primal fear. As it charges, it lets out a blood-curdling scream that sends a wave of panic through anyone within earshot.
However, just as it seems poised to reach its victim, the Daylight Shrieker vanishes into thin air, disappearing just feet away in a flash of shimmering light, leaving behind only the echo of its scream and a chilling sense of dread. Those who encounter it report feeling an overwhelming sense of terror, as if the creature feeds off the fear it instills.
Physical Traits:
As stated above, the Daylight Shrieker stands quite tall with a thin, almost skeletal build. The shriek that erupts from its body when it runs at a victim can bring fear and terror to anyone. Its hollow eyes are as dark and empty as the night.
