We have spent countless weeks in the Sahara Desert studying whether beetles can show signs of cryptid activity. We thought we saw just about everything while out in the desert until one fateful day. There was a large, moving plume of debris west of our campsite moving northeast. It roughly moved in the direction of our camp. At first it looked like a sandstorm was forming but the debris would settle shortly after getting kicked up. Once whatever this was got closer, we realized a small translucent object was moving at what seemed like hypersonic speeds, kicking up all this sand. We were able to follow it with our binoculars.
Whatever this was suddenly stopped. We could not figure out what it was. We were doubting whether this was real or a hallucination. It was translucent, whimsically floating out there in the desert. We assume it was assessing where to go next. Suddenly this thing turned what looked like a head in our direction. Once it realized us, it was gone in a plume of sand and debris. The shockwave from its departure swept our tents and supplies all over the place. We have named this creature the Sonic Phantom. A tribute to it’s speed and ghostlike appearance. It has been spotted a few more times during throughout our research project, and we believe the following to be true.
Monster Description:
The Sonic Phantom, a terrifying cryptid known for its incredible speed and devastating sonic presence. This elusive creature is said to materialize from thin air, often appearing without warning in remote areas or desolate landscapes.
Habitat:
The only sightings we have had of the Sonic Phantom were in a desert. It seems to prefer weaving throughout the valleys of sand dunes, but it travels over the dunes with ease. We are not sure if it needs the open space to travel.
Behavior:
The Sonic Phantom travels at hypersonic speeds, creating a low, almost imperceptible hum as it approaches. However, as it whips past, it generates a deafening sonic boom that can shatter glass, rupture eardrums, and devastate anything in its wake.
The sound is described as a piercing shriek, echoing through the air like a freight train, leaving nothing but destruction behind. Witnesses report feeling a profound sense of dread moments before the Phantom’s arrival, often accompanied by a sudden drop in temperature and an unsettling silence. Once it passes, the aftermath is evident: structures will be damaged and the air filled with a lingering, oppressive pressure.
Physical Traits:
Its form is somewhat amorphous, with a shimmering, translucent body that seems to ripple like sound waves, blending seamlessly with its surroundings.
Conclusion:
From observation we feel like the Sonic Phantom is a harbinger of chaos, drawn to places of turmoil or conflict. Those unlucky enough to encounter it feel not only physical harm but also a psychological impact, as the experience leaves them shaken and disoriented. It’s recommended to avoid areas where the air feels thick or charged, as it may be a sign that the Sonic Phantom is near, ready to unleash its destructive fury.
We will continue to study this cryptid. There are no reports from locals of its existence. Has this creature suddenly appeared from nowhere or has it always existed. For all we know, this cryptid may have helped create the sand dunes you see throughout the desert.
